Welcome to SnackFace, kidlets!
I am Kailey, a senior magazine journalism student in the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University. If you’ve heard anything about OU it’s probably about its partying abilities, which are outrageous and often too much for me. That’s not to say I don’t enjoy it… 🙂
In high school my goal was to get into the Scripps program so that I can fulfill my dreams. I’d absolutely LOVE to write and edit a magazine. Any of the following would be ideal: Food & Wine, Travel+Leisure, VegNews, Bon Appetit, EatingWell, Women’s Health, Gourmet, Vogue, W, Glamour…the list goes on. And the ultimate goal? To host my own show on the Travel Channel. I know these goals are lofty, but I’m still goin’ for it!
I’ve dabbled in many, many activities. Plays, musicals, varsity golf (3 years- I’m BAD though), choirs, hip-hop dance team, cheerleading (when I was 12-15 years old, then I believe I physically outgrew it- you can’t be 5’10” and do a back handspring comfortably!). I’m probably forgetting some activities. Here’s me breakin’ it down though:
I worked for OU’s student-run paper for a year, writing for the culture staff. Experiences at the paper combined with this little blog led me to nail my dream internship for Summer 2009. In San Francisco, I was fortunate enough to be an editorial assistant at VegNews magazine. I’d go back in a heartbeat. Now that I’m back in Ohio, Women’s Chorale and Tempo Tantrums help keep me busy and sane. Women’s chorale is more formal and counts as credit, and TTs is an a capella group for which I had to audition. We sing killer popular songs and have a blast doing it!
Another lil’ something I’ve dabbled in is modeling. I’ve never done anything huge, but have had a few interesting jobs. I’ve also done a lot of modeling for students on campus.
Miss Ashley and I are together…whenever possible. She’s my Muffin.
My roomie, Morgan, is fabulous as well. We’ve been roommates since freshman year.
This blog will reveal my eats, schoolwork and life in general. I’m optimistic, vivacious and often sarcastic (be prepared). I want to share my college experience–the goods, bads, uglies. Mostly goods, though. You’ll learn more wacky details about me fa sho (I love Weezy, I’m a bit OCD, I always carry two different flavors of gum with me…just a few examples).
That’s the story for now…stay tuned 🙂
Thank you for reading!!!
