In the Raw
Hey beauties! I hope everyone had a fabulous Thursday. Wasn’t it a bizarre day? Farrah and M.J.? I mean, pure shock! You can bet this weekend will be full of men in mirrors, thrillers and not stopping because I never get enough. I was pleased to see people biking downtown, trailing behind a man blaring M.J. classics.
Anyway, back to regular programming. I woke up this morning, went for a tired run, showered and ate le breakfast. Okay, so I’ve been tempted by this raw thing. I just know I’d start to label foods, which is no good, but I thought breakfast could be a raw start:
In the bowl: 1/2 chopped apple, blueberries, strawberries, covered in a raw almond butter-almond milk-pumpkin pie spice sauce. This was delicious:
I don’t know anything about these proper raw combinations or whatnot, but this combination was spot-on.
For morning snackage, I packed these treats:
So I went to work, was slammed with very exciting work (get ready for the Veggie Awards–you get to vote starting July 1 !!! And there are new categories, several of which ya’ll will LOVE), but I had barrels of energy. However, at 10:30 I couldn’t take it anymore. I was starving! So I broke into the bar, which wowed me, then had the apple in the afternoon. But anyway, seriously, that bar was fantastic, and I don’t even like fruit-flavored things.
Charlotte made lunch today and though the soup and chips weren’t raw, the salad with dressing was (ha! of course). And it was all scrumptious:
Oh how I loved that lunch! Alright kids, I’m about to get graphic. When am I not, though? Usually after lunch, I get a little to very…noisy? Okay I’m a big GasFace after lunch. I said it. However, today, even though I had beans for lunch, my stomach was fine! I’m not sure exactly what it was, but I think the raw-by-my-standards breakfast may have had something to do with it.
We were all working so intensely in the afternoon that by the time we had to leave for Vegan Dranks, our brains were toast. One way to fix that:
That’s raw, right? Holy shhh this was delicious! The crowd at Vegan Dranks was, in a word, interesting. Some men have no idea how to socialize, and it’s terrifying. One way NOT to win me over: accuse me of not eating to stay thin. Um, buddy, I don’t think so. I just laughed it off at the time, but furreal?
Actually, I suppose I hadn’t eaten dinner yet, and when we got home at 9 I was ravenous:
On the plate: spinach, green beans, celery, Trader Joe’s Meatless Meatballs (because a darling reader didn’t know what I meant by balls- whoops!), pineapple salsa, sesame sticks, hummus and balsamic. Okay, I have almost zero groceries, so that was puny. To fix that, I had about three servings of Peanut Butter Puffins and finished the box. And I swear I’m still hungry.
I clearly didn’t eat raw today, but incorporated more raw foods into my regimine. Or did I really? I always feel as though I eat raw enough for me anyway. That breakfast, though, has me thinking. My stomach wasn’t nearly as icky as normal. Hmmm…
It’s bedtime for bonzo, and I have a HUGE weekend to gear up for!
Ciao for now,
BIG QUESTION: What is your favorite nut butter? I want full details, yo.
That’s nearly impossible, right? I’d say PB& Co’s White Chocolate Wonderful for something sweet and Blue Diamond Crunchy Almond Butter for savory. Too good!
